Time to get active again, time to HIIT The Court™

Offering programs that stay relevant for millennial members remains a challenge for competition-based sports seeking to address the large player drop-out in young adulthood. Whilst this trend is most pronounced between 18-24 years as teenagers leave secondary school, the wave of appetite towards fitness and gym-based activities over traditional sport commences much earlier in adolescence.

Enter HIIT The Court.

HIIT The Court™ combines functional H.I.I.T. (high-intensity interval training) with 3x3 Basketball in 50-minute heart-pumping sessions.

Compared with 5v5 basketball, 3x3 Basketball provides higher cardiovascular effort and more on-court involvement to players.

There’s no bench to sit on here.

Add in the popular H.I.I.T component, and you have the perfect workout blend for people looking to get their fitness, basketball and social fix within an hour.

How does HIIT The Court™ work?

Here’s the game plan:

  • Each HIIT The Court session is made up of 4 x 10 minute ‘quarters’.

  • Each quarter includes a unique five-station circuit comprising strength, cardio and 3x3 basketball activity.

  • Sessions are capped at 15 participants, however deliverers can modify to cater for 12-18 participants.

Keeping young adults engaged in sport

HIIT The Court addresses the access barriers which often stop players from continuing basketball such as time, travel and cost, whilst removing the focus on grading and competition that many players outgrow. Players can stay local with no season-long fees, uniforms, or need for individuals to find a team.

With no scoreboards or complex gym equipment, HIIT The Court deliverers lead an energising and judgement-free environment for their members.

Who is HIIT The Court for?

HIIT The Court is for:

  • Young adults seeking to build fitness and play basketball in a non-competitive and social setting.

  • Those ‘young at heart’ looking to jump back into their childhood sport in a safe and flexible manner.

Who can deliver HIIT The Court?

HIIT The Court is perfect for clubs, associations and leisure providers who:

  • Are challenged by space and time restrictions in venues.

  • Are looking to retain and attract members by adapting to the boom of fitness-based, less structured forms of sport.

  • Want to level-up their basketball team’s pre-season.

No weights or gym equipment required - all you need is a half-basketball court, loud speakers and a basketball.

Adaptable to COVID-normal lifestyles.

  • The use of equipment-free stations and small-sided games allow participants to maintain greater physical distancing compared with organised forms of sport.

  • Sessions can be modified to meet varying degrees of infection control that have become our new normal.

  • HIIT The Court forms an effective way to safety spread facility users across a single court, with an average of 1 person per 17m2.

  • Participants book into classes as they would any other fitness class, with flexible week-to-week participation.

OK I’m in, how do I get involved?
